Collaboration, Technology, Practice
My AEC research focuses on collaborative communication and work practices in multi-disciplinary architect/engineering/construction/owner (AECO) teams. This includes projects on collaborative data practices (e.g., Building Information Modeling, energy modeling, data visualizations), interdisciplinary communication and collaboration, and building collaborative team cultures, collaborative project delivery methods (e.g. IPD, PDB), public-private partnerships (P3), and Prevention through Design (PtD) practices. I have worked on research projects funded by the National Science Foundation, General Services Administration, University of Washington, Skanska, Sound Transit, Port of Seattle, King County Metro, Washington State Labor & Industries, and the Pankow Foundation. I have also worked on these topics as a contracted consultant for the GSA.
